e34 rear electric window

as above,the offside rear electric window has stopped working on my 540i.the switch on the back door does nothing, but the one between the front seats sends power to make the window go up but not down.has anyone got any ideas?is all the wiring the same on the other models because they dont seem to do a haynes manual for the 540?

clean or replace the switch between the seats, the rear may be dirty or turned off (kid lock) you can swap the rear switch with the one on the other side of the car if that one works to diagnose if it's the switch, if the motor works at all the circuit is ok
