Just wondering how hard it would be to remove the exhaust with that type of lift? I think a transmission swap would be impossible, I'm biased toward the transmission swap because I've done it 4 times now ;>) ... nice for doing brake work and changing tires though.

Aren't there some nice 2 post type lifts around for not much more? I sometimes see garage closeouts where they auction that type of stuff off and I would think around the GTA there must be a few of them sitting around?

I don't like the scissor type... seems limited in use... go with Assymetrical post lifts... best... as you know.

I would love a lift but don't have one so take this for what it is worth....my opinion is if you go...get a nice one. That one just looks too rinky dink. Get one that will give you some height and center clearance under the car to do exhaust and tranny work. I am sure Bill R knows the best bang for buck out there...I would check in with him or Winfred. The way you should look at is you will be in this for the long haul so if you go...get a real nice one.

if your going to get a lift get a lift not a oversized jack, heres a few

get something with a clear floor, the cables on the floor type really get in the way of a tranny jack. we scored a used rotary for under a grand for our 2nd lift, count on around $400 for a good install and check out of the lift. get a catalog from northern they usually run a sale on a 9000 lb asymmetrical lift for around $2500 with free s/h (not sure about canada) or check around town at shops for a used lift
