Upgrade motrontic 1.1 to 1.3?

Can you upgrade a motorntic 1.1 motor to 1.3 by just chaning the wireharness and ecu?

I'm putting a m30 into my e30 and was woundering how hard it would be to upgrade a 1988 635csi motor.

i know on the 1.1 87 325i you can just plug in the 88-91 1.3 computer and it works fine, i am not sure on the m30, look at the plug and see if it's the same format, it may plug in
