Well thought id have one! i made it so no keys are required, removed steering wheel lock and the start button engages ignition, clutch in press again car starts. It has ignition sensing to know if engine is running and then a second press will stop the car.

What's the panel below the start button?
its for the on board computer hidden in the boot, use iftfor mp3s and voice navigation, if you look at the pics you should see a colour screen at top of dash and also a matrix display at bottom for mp3 music name

That’s pretty nifty! :D I added push button start on my Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD recently because my key will not go pass ignition “ON” to start the engine. So, I bypassed the starter to the red start button instead of changing the ignition system. The key still locks the steering wheel and turns the accessory on or off, etc... Only difference is the red push button to start the engine.

YOU PUT YOUR STEERING WHEEL BACK ON THE WRONG SIDE!!
:D
Pretty slick. Any sort of a manual backup in case the button won't shut the car off (other than pulling the ignition coil)?

sounds like just the starting part of the switch died and the rest works normally

Yes it is. I’m the second owner since 1988. It is an old car but in mint condition with only 38k miles. It has spent most of its life in my garage under a cover. That twin-turbo do put a smile on my face! :D

God, but I used to love that car! Is yours an E (intercooled)? I loved the shift pattern, same as the one in my 1967 911S. Reverse, one, two and so on.....If you ever want to sell it, let me know.

No, it is not the E model. However, I did add the Spearo intercooler to improve performance just like the E model. That added power really makes a difference in a 2400 lbs. car. :D Everything else is very much stock except the Alpine radio, Stebro stainless-steel exhaust, and HRE 3-piece wheels. Yes, I also like the high-speed pattern for shifting. How often do you use the first gear if you’re driving fast? ;) It’s still my baby and I like to keep it for a while longer. Thanks for the offer... :)
