I'm going to have to put some new rubber on soon, and I thought to myself, "hey, why not spend a little more and put on a new set of wheels as well"
In looking around I came across these photos http://www.bimmer.info/forum/showthread.php?t=5507 (56K beware)
What kind of wheels are on the black M5T??
Anyone know where I could pick some up? and an approx price??
What about a set of wheels on ebay?? good idea or bad idea.....

Depending where you are and the condition of the rims, they could run as high as $2000 for a used set of OEMs.

Those are the style 37 m parallels which came standard on some M5's. They run about $500 a wheel at the dealer. They have a bunch of replicas on ebay but most if not all the guys here will say go OEM because the replicas are cheap and they bend easy. You can every once in a while find some one selling a pair on the board or find a used OEM set on ebay.

you will almost never find a set of used e34 m-parallels. almost as hard for e39 and e31 m-p's.
however, e38 m-p's from 97-01 740iL sport are available form time to time. usually found as a staggered set - 2 18x8 ET13 & 2 18x9.5 ET25mm. New cost almost as much as other m-p's at the dealer, too.
used they might go for as low as 1K, but generally 2-400 more. occasionally found on Ebay, but Ebay is flooded with reps.
note: the 18X8 is good for the 235-245/40x18 tires. the 18x9.5 is for 265-275/35 tires. sometimes spacers or wheel well rolling may be required to fit the rears.
here's an old photo with 4 18x8 reps with 245/40.

These wheels are still available through the dealer (priced some in Oz last week).
The part numbers are:
36.11.2.227.931
36.11.2.227.933
The reason for the two part numbers is because the front wheels are 8" and the rears 9".
Quoted A$1130 each for the fronts and A$1175 each for the rears! Still thinking about those prices...
Cheers
