Headlights cutting off

My son told me his '90 525 has an intermittent problem with the low beam headlights cutting off, or not coming on when he flips the switch. The fogs and brights work fine. He said when it happens, switching the high beams on will usually make the lows come on.

Is this the dreaded mustard relay I heard about with E32's?

believe it's the LKM (lighting kontrol module roughly translated), it's located in the fusebox, and is about 6 inches long and 1.5" wide. You can resolder the joints in it, or buy a new one.
