where can I get one (in the US)
do I need a different front mounting??

The plate itself you can find on Ebay. The mounting kit (it's different than the US tags) can be had from BMA or Ebay.

I think I'm going to get one... and not worry about state laws untill I cross the bridge....

The Euro plate p/n= 51-11-8-148-821 (from what I remember it cost around $45 or so). It repalces the center section of the US front plate section no problem- it snaps in & includes the lower grille section as well- 1 piece (the stock US bumper trim pieces fit fine). Ok, so I am in Australia. What is the difference between Euro and US plates. I presume also that you are talking about what the plates are affixed to rather than the plates themselves?

The front bumper is already drilled and should have plugs to put screws in. I would reccomend something stainless as they will corrode.
