I was wondering has anyone ever heard or seen of anyone sticking a head unit or a tv screen where the ash tray is in the front console of the car? Or does anyone know how to take out the plastic thing thats in there behind the ash tray?
thanks

regular size of a HU is about 7"x2"... measure and find out. I'll bet depth will be a problem.
I have my Sirius satellite radio where the ashtray was, kinda ghetto mounted for now... pics next week.
why the hell do you need a tv screen in your car for?

Why not put one where the regular DIN is?
Anything can be made to fit, but from what i remember i cant see it being an easy job.
And, if i remember correctly, wont it foul the gearstick? Or is it higher than that? (Only had mine a matter of a few hours.....)
If you wanna keep something else in the regular housing, and you wanna be really trick, then fabricate a housing in the centre air vents.....

well i already have a very large stereo system, and i would like to add a tv, because without one you dont have a chance of winning competions. The tv i was going to put in the normal dash din, and then move my stereo head unit, to where the ash tray is.

hmmmm i thought about placing the tv where the air vents go, but i thought it'd be easier to stick it where the ash tray goes

Its all in peices now, and there is a problem, depth! There is the air conditioning/heating unit, that sits behind the ashtray. What do i do? Can i start cutting away at the box? I think it will leak air though! Anyy one help?
