I went to the local Muray's auto. Had a 16" Hayden fan, it was missing some hardware. I asked the manager if he cold do a deal and he knocked it down to $60. Made some modfications to the mounting setup and the new fan is in nice and tight. Much quieter than the old fan. The A/C works great when the car is stopped now. This fan draws 20 amps, so its well within the 30 amp circuit that BMW allows. Retail price on that fan is like $507 - I still can't see what is so special, its not even German. The one that came off my car was from Canada. I field stripped it and discovered that there is a very limited space for shooting lubrication into one of these things when the seize up. The extra $10 was for the plastic side bumper bracket I snapped off, going to have to order one on monday.
