Hard to go wrong with either, I use the Mann on my M60.

Both have been OE suppliers for BMW and I use both without problem. Good products.

George, we're actually going to come and make sure you're not secretly running Mahle filters! :p

Hi Duey...lol....actually...I have both kinds...got a few extras...no big deal to me.
Only thing I hear bad things about are Fram filters...not on this forum but others I visit on occassion. Don't know if its fact or fiction.

and are the worst you can get, they used to be the highest rated filter but now they are not.

As far as I have researched for the racecar and daily transports the Wix is about the best unless you go with one of the high dollar race/high performance filters. And then the wix holds up to the challange without freak problems such as imploding under high oil pressure before the oil warms with conventional dino oil.

the only drawback with the Wix is it has a metal anti drainback valve which in theory can allow unfiltered oil to pass to the filtered side when the system is shut down. I took one apart and cant see a lot of it passing through and if thats the worst thing about it I'm sold.

I sound like a commercial...
