Springfest Down Under 2004 - Update

I am pleased to confirm that the Annual Springfest Down Under Outing for the E34 Mafia (and friends) will take place on Sunday 26th September.

This is the best date we can find which does not clash with the BMW Club's Show 'n Shine (12th) Track Day (19th) and in next month, Bathurst etc. Any later and we will crowd the Xmas Drive.

The drive will be out in the wild reaches of the North West of Sydney and is designed to give us some good roads plus an opportunity to socialise. A more detailed plan will be forthcoming shortly.

We will assemble at the Maccas at Eastern Creek at 8:00 am, head west to Penrith, cut north to Windsor, then out towards Wiseman's Ferry and back through Dural for lunch.

Could you please advise me if you would be interested in joining us for the day. You are welcome to invite any BMW friends but please advise me. Ta!

Hmmm, sounds like September is going to be a busy month for you! Have fun, hope you have a grand turnout. We expect to see plenty of pictures and stories.....oh yeah, if you happen to see that one ol' mate of ours wandering around aimlessly, babbling and drooling, tell 'em we said, 'ello.....

Have you downunder guys heard of an American Football player named Ricky Williams? He played last year for my local team, the Miami Dolphins and recently "retired" at 27 years old after an extended off season trip to OZ. He traveled in, what you would call a caravan, across the continent and, apparently after enjoying a bit too much of a "local herbal relaxer", decided that he enjoyed it more than his US$5 million/yr contract.

Strange guy.....Great Football Player, just a strange ranger....

He must have been on some funny stuff as driving a caravan is for lunatics or people on mind bending substances. But in fairness I read somewhere he had a social anxiety disorder which made him really unhappy about being in the limelight. Australian beer should cure him of that problem! :)

This month will be a great car month with the Show 'n Shine, a track day and Springfest. There should be lots to tell! Don't know about seeing the Q though, although I would like nothing less. Stand by for further announcements! :)

If we can offload the kids I might be able to get "she who must be obeyed" to join in otherwise it will be just me and a cd stacker full of 70s & 80s music.
