How in the world did this vehicle end up in some crappy dealership hands?

Someone run a carfax on that one, it would be interesting to see the history. For 51K the driver's side floor looks odd...I wonder if it's a flood victim.

has the car been federalized - met DOT and EPA standards? the ad says so - but you should verify. then you will still have to have it approved by whichever state you reside in (CA is one of the worst/stringent/picky). If it hasn't been federalized, that could cost $10K.

photos look nice, but cannot show rust (if any).
hopefully everything functions correctly - EDC shocks don't leak, etc.
the description is copied from sales brochures, etc.

the 95 is the last year of production, and this one sounds like it has all the performance options, making it POTENTIALLY a truly, rare, awesome M5. Avus Blue is a fantastic color.

Buyer BEWARE - there are so many details that are NOT obvious to anyone not familiar with M5's and grey market cars. The WORST nightmare happens if the car was federalized by some company who shortcuts the procedure - installs shoddy catalytic converters, etc.

I have heard horror stories from those that have spenttons more money and time to fix all the little stuff that wasn't done properly in the first place.
Look up old post from Matt D, regarding his M5T for some info.

good luck !!!!! could be the best car you'll ever own....

PS: those are NOT Throwing Star wheels!!!
Besides, the 95 with N'ring suspension should have the staggered M-parallel wheels.

A black one.

It has the euro-plate-sized license plate infill cover though. Worth a look see anyway. Who's in Brooklyn?

We should group buy this along with the subframe tool. Bill can keep it, and whenever someone needs it for the weekend they can put their name on the list.

We'll need an instruction sheet to go along with it though, so it doesn't come back to Bill all dirty and broken.

Why don't yopu ask the seller if you can go have a look, and take some pictures?
But I bet he wants at least $30K for it. I wonder why it's been parked for almost a year? Just the federalisation costs over $10K for these cars. (and many companies that perform the work don't do it properly)

And hopefully you have deep pockets when it needs repairs, they have many parts that are not the same as on a US spec. E34 M5. (even the brakes are different)

I am very close to its location. Hopefully today or tomorrow I will see it.

Always wanted an AVUS M5. :D

I will post results if I get to see it.

It's always been in the sig. I bought the tii in May 1981, and it had had a Callaway turbo on it then. I took it off in 1985.
