meaning that the driver of the a very similar black/black early model E34, what i can only assume was a 535i because of the wheels (it was de-badged), gave a head nod as he passed. This NEVER happens, except for when i see with this green Alpina B10 touring, i feel like its my duty to acknowledge it. sometimes people chat at gas stations, but i have never gotten a nod from another e34 owner on the road and i see alot of E34s. I suppose its not surprising, but the way i see it, the E34 doesnt look like 99.9% of the cars on the road and if you own a nice one, and know what it takes to keep it up, it seems like there should be some sort of comraderie... thats what makes this board great.

it seems to me like the E34 drivers up here just don't get it.

the drivers around here are very friendly, constantly waving various body parts at you shouting and flashing their lights, sometimes they want to meet you so bad they drive right into you, however the really shy ones lose their nerve and change their mind about meeting you and drive away before you can get out and say hello

That is good Winfred. Only a fool would say hello after getting a good look at you man. I have a crazy friend who is a CAD designer...coined a super user because of his knowledge of Catia... and also a brilliant car guy...builds some really cool muscle cars and trucks. He doesn't mind fighting on occasion and has a hair trigger temper. One time there were a couple of brothers that were tailgating him in his Escort..his winter beater...this guy can build a car out of chewing gum. Anyway...big mistake...he deliberately locked up his brakes..they smashed into him...he jumped out...smashed the driver window out with his fist...pulled the driver out and beat the sh!t out of him and the passenger smartly ran away. Like I said...my buddy is nuts and also very strong...although we are about the same size. You have to be very careful who you dance with.

Heck - I wave at em anyway. If they're in a clean E34 they've got style in my book.

Here in NY, plenty of E34s everywhere, but you know how NYorkers are...nobody here cares about anything. Half the E34s are beat up and abused. And the girls look only at the new cars more than $75k with the bling bling everywhere. Good taste is out of style I tell ya!
