I saw the pics, and I was impressed.
Then I saw the 360k in the sig, and I was amazed.

I just replaced my 92-535 with 310,000 miles with a 530-E39. It's amazing what milage the M30 engine is capable of with proper care. My car was in such good shape that my mechanic bought it with every intention of getting to over 400,000 with it.

Really man - if you just painted or powdercoated the valve cover and (maybe) the intake manifold; that thing would look brand new.

spray the hoses with WD40 and rub with cloth .

If you do this, then your hoses will swell and burst.

I'll look for swelling hoses. I don't spray on directly. I sray the cloth and use it to clean hoses and the covers.

with a clean dry rag. You can also use tire treatment stuff, worked for me.

but how many head gaskets has your car been through? Mine has 173k, it's on its 2nd gasket. I hope this one lasts longer since I'm now taking good care of the car and will be changing the coolant more often. Also, someone said that injectors typicaly last less than 100k but mine still has the original ones. Just recently, replaced all injector o-rings and heat shields.
I think there should be some kinda hall of fame to induct your car once it reaches 400K. Power on dude...

so are you happy with the E39? Any regrets? What do you miss about the E34?

.....to help preserve gaskets. I've also thought about getting the injectors replaced or cleaned but they seem fine. M30 runs smooth and strong.
