What is the difference between Touring and non-Touring? I have a 1992 525i (with 197k and running strong) Touring and am wondering what the difference is. Thanks.

as we call them here in the U.S., then it is not a Touring. The Touring versions are considerably rarer than the non-touring, and highly prized by many of us.

My 525i is NOT a wagon. On the ID sticker under the hood it states for Model: BMW 525i, BMW 525i Touring. I'm guessing this is a generic ID tag that is attached to both models.

First of all, Paul nice looking Touring!
Couple of questions: Did they ever produce a 535i Touring?
Was there a 5-Speed option available for the Touring models?

There were several e34 touring models; 520iT, 525iXT, 525iT, 530iT, 540iT and the M5T. The US only got the 525iT and the 530iT officially and all were automatics. Manual transmissions were available in other parts of the world.
