LCD Display Back Lighting

Aloha,

Anybody ever have the LCD displays on the OBC and the radio both go black on 1990 525i?

I can see they a creating numbers, but just are not illuinated by the back light anymore.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the tip.

The OBC looks simple enough, but the radio requires a little surgery, but I just found a website that shows the process for the radio fix.

Hey Gang,

The OBC light replacement was a snap! The hardest part was dealing with the surly BMW parts & service Dept.

The radio was major surgery,PC boards, tiny light bulbs and hot solder.

But in the end all the displays are working.
