91 535 5-spd / Eibach or Sachs Sport Kit???

Any feedback would be appreciated on deciding which suspension to go with. I'm looking for a good solid road car ride and won't be changing sway bars, etc. The only upgrades is to 225x60/15's on original basket weaves.

It's time for shocks and struts so this is the perfect time.

Installed a sach kit on a 535i last night, not too hard to install, the ride was pretty nice. Not to harsh, but stiffer.very well balanced kit.

I had the same dilemma as you. I did not want to compromise the ride but I wanted it to handle so I did the Sachs kit( from BMA) M-tech Sways( from Pacific BMW) and new lemforder control arms w/ 750i bushings and new dog bones....took me about 4 1/2 hours.

Sachs kit runs $640 including shipping. The Eibach kit runs about $700 plus shipping.

How do they compare in ride quality?

The Sachs kit is a tuned kit, meaning the struts and springs are matched so they work together. The struts are valved to work with the springs in that kit. When you get a Sachs kit, you will notice the springs say "Eibach" on them, they are made to Sachs specifications by Eibach.

Many people have used the Sachs kit on this board, including myself, and honestly, I can't say anyone had a bad thing to say about it.

Bruno, can you compare the handling and ride of the Sachs kit to an Eibach/Bilstein HD package?

I have the same setup as califblue, I love it. My mechanic did the work but was happy to install the parts I collected from various sources. He did the rear subframe bushings as well. I also had him do the engine and trans mounts as well. The trans mounts were seriously screwed and were about to fail.
