no, nothing is "wrong" with the car now. i was driving it that way to see if i could knock some of the carbon out of it without me having to go back in there. speed was about 80-85 which netted about 4000-4600 rpm. my "problem" is that it seems to only have reduced ping at the top of my ping band, none from the bottom. this seems to be the pattern with everything i did to remove carbon.....water decarbonization, fuel tank treatments, piston soak.....they all seem to lower the rpm at which it pings (ie, ping at 22-2800, 4700-5000 before, ping at 22-2700, with no more 4700-5000 afterward). is this how its supposed to work? before i get nasty comments, i'm running ger. castrol synthetic and i change my atf at each oil change, so please don't compare running it up there to some 20 yr. old pushrod american engine design. thanks.
