Mp3 player question . . .

I'd like to add Mp3 CD capability but I want to keep the stock BMW head unit & factory 6-disk CD player intact. Will one of those adapters that fits in the cassette work and then use a portable "Walkman-type" CD/Mp3 player to run the Mp3 CD in? If so, would the sound quality be ok or would it suffer to where I wouldn't want to bother with it in the 1st place? I'm a deaf old fart & my hearing is shot so I'm not aiming for the best sound quality, anything comparable to stock exceeds my hearing range.

I was thinking along the lines of a less expensive option that would insert into the cassette slot in the head unit & plug into the headphone jack of my son's TDK Mojo cd/mp3 player:

At one time there were also CD players that transmit an FM signal and they play back thru the head unit by tuning to a specified FM frequency, don't know if any of those have mp3 capability. Granted, the sound quality wouldn't be as good as a hard-wired configuration, but like I said in the initial post, my hearing isn't that great.

there are also some fm modulators out there that work well.

fm modulators in my experience had all types, transmitters, coaxial transfer...

they are all pants and to be avoided at all costs
