rear muffler question!!!!

i see a muffler on ebay, and i happen to need one for my 535i, but this one is for a 525i, will that still fit, the unit looks the same

Don't know for sure, but if purchased cheaply would probably be worth the costs of modifying to make it work. I think I remember a thread awhile back where someone did this from a overstock offer from Bavarian Autosport of BMP stainless muffler. They had a muffler shop do some inexpensive modifications to make it work. Not sure if it was exactly the same issue, 525 to 535 change or not.

I recently purchased Eberspaecher front and rear mufflers from BMA for my 535i.
I checked the part numbers and the muffler for the 525i (ebay) is different. The muffler on Ebay does look really similar. I would call BMA and ask. My guess is that they are different. FYI, BMA was less than 300 for this part.

Just buy a new one....not very expensive and weighs lot less......got mine from Beckers....European made and fit perfectly....just buy hardware at dealer.
