Changing Headlights

I need to change the headlights on my 94 530 as the glass lenses have cracks in them and are now taking on water. Has anyone done this before? What is the easiest way to change them and what parts would I need to get? Also, any idea on the cost?

Also, what can I do to protect them from chipping again?

the headlights can be purchased from teh dealer for $50, or BMA for cheaper. remove the front grill assembly, then all the screws associated with teh lights.

Is that the grille that surrounds the lights, or the center grille?

While I'm in there, I might as well do all four. Is it cheaper to buy the whole assemblies for each side, or replace each light seperately?

Also, what can I do to protect them from damage again?
