Hi all, this is Francisco(Bronx,NY) and i want alittle more juice(horse power) from a 525i 1989. m20 engine. I want header and the chip for it. Can any one help with this? and also the price of it too! thanks again for all the help . I'm learning alot from your guys. Toyota supra(turbo) was my fav. car and i still get it, but this(BMW) is something new for me......ok, Francisco

msds makes some cheep shorty headers for around $225 but i am not sure how much better they are, i have the full length baverian auto sport headers on my 325is and they seem to work ok at $520

http://www.msdsinc.com/exhaust_1.htm for the shorty's
and
www.bavauto.com and look up a 90 325i and this part #32 019 C to see the long's (not totally sure they will fit a e34)

Yeah Areito I know what you mean. I am doing a restoration project on my 89 525i there is a company in North Carolina by the name of Carr industry.com they will sell you the headers you need plus, they are ceramic coated to look crome. they will also sell you a chip. please look them up they are really nice guys. tell them Jerome from Atlanta sent you. I can't shot you any pics cause i am at work. But will post them as soon as I can. the horse power I gain was not a whole lot but with a full remus exhaust from the cat-back gives a great sound so I am not sure is it mostly the headers or the exhaust or both combine. But I also have a shrick cam with performance lifters with a host of other Mods. Hit me back we will talk.

I don't know what your final plans or budget are, but without extensive engine modifications, you aren't going to get much of a power increase by bolting some headers onto a M20. I do recommend chipping it if you desire to keep it n/a and are on a performance budget, but imo the best bang for your buck on a m20 is turbo. Check out TurboChargingDynamics (http://www.turbochargingdynamics.com/) if you want some real performance out of your baby six. Plus you won't lose fuel economy and you can tack on an extra 100 horses on stock internals.
