Hi guys....
I'm looking at a supersprint cat back exhaust system that was intended for use on the 530/540.
I've been told that the cat back portion of the E34 530/540 exhaust can be used on the 535 with the addition of a small adapter coming out of the cat.
Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

I'd look on the Online ETK and see if they care the same part number. That may tell ya.

There are different part numbers from supersprint, however a distributor is telling me that they can be made to fit.
I don't have access here at work to the ETK (at home) and I don't have the link to the online ETK (the old link doesn't work anymore). :(
If anyone has any experience with this, your input would be helpful...

the old link was automatically directing to the new address...but I guess that time limit has run out...here's the new link...and the site has been slightly updated: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/
please update your favorites link folder with the new URL address...this site is invaluable as you probably know. ;)

Thanks for the link!
Here's what I discovered based on the ETK (below). I suspect that the 535 and the 530 systems can be pretty much interchanged. However the 540 has a different sized (2mm difference) gasket (and presumably input pipe). This would account for the requirement for an adapter.
The adapter is available from Supersprint.
Does this make any sense to anyone?
530 to 535
- all mounting hardware is exactly the same
- gasket rings (50mm), flange, etc are the same part numbers
- center muffler and rear muffler are different part numbers but have same layout and look identical.

- gasket rings, flange, etc are different (50mm gasket ring on 535, 52mm on 540)
- center muffler and rear muffler are different part numbers but have the same layout and look 'almost' identical.

legnth and overall size will be the same the difference will be in the diameter of the pipes connecting the resonator to the cat (if any, i don't see hardly any 540s) if nothing else a little welding and it's fixed, i welded the flanges from a 535 to a shortened 750il catback so i could bolt it up to my 535 (2.5" pipes vs 1.75" i think)
