Need Help, I Blow Out My Enigne

Hi all, this is Francisco and i blow-out my car engine. It is a 525i 1989 e34 m20 engine. I just got a 535 1989 engine, the question is , is this engine will work in my car? please help me with this.. no john, i guess have the engine. so, it wont work right with the 525i trans? about your car it is a beaty and its a great pic....thanks for the info...

ebay the m30 and just buy another m20 to put in the car. They are a dime a dozen these days.

thanks derek a. but i think i'm going to put it in tomorrow12/07/04. if i have to make some changes, i dont think it will be alot. it is bimmer to bimmer. m20 engine is 2494cc, m30 engine is 3430cc, both 6 cylinder. m20 has 168/170 hp. m30 208/211 hp. i'm going to add tread and let every one know how it went...thank you any way for your time and information.....Francisco

I thought both the M20 and M30 used the same Getrag 260 manual trans? Shouldn't he be fine with his stock trans?
