Tranny Question?

Hi all, does anyone know what the digits in the part number on a 5-speed manual getrag transmission stand for? I've got an 89' 525i with a tranny that needs replacing, its numbers are 260.0.1346.90.
Does the new tranny need the exact same numbers or is there some leeway? Thanks.
