535i heat controls?

Question:

I have a 1990 535i with the 3 round dials for heat/vent control, someone is wrecking a 92 735il that has the full climate control with the three I will say sideways roller controls? know what I mean....is it simply the dash controls that control all the functions? Is the 735il climate heat controls plug and play with mine? I am curious...
