1994 525I intermitant front shimmer 69K

At 80 mph when brakes applied front shimmered bad three times, then the rest of the day just mild vibration like warpped rotors. Could this be the antilock brake system? Or worn shocks from the due to the warped rotors. Its the wifes car and I don't drive it enough. Everything seems tight still.

if there is any play in any front part you can get shimmy. Did it only do it when you pressed the brakes?

It's been too rainy and cold even in northwest florida to check things out since returning from the recent trip. Yes, the shimmy only happened when the brakes were applied and at high speed and stops when brakes released. When applied at lower speed it just feels a little like warped rotors. That is why I susspected more than one problem. Also, it did not shimmer everytime the brakes were applied.
