I have a 1991 535i, Below the distributor cap, above and a little to the right of the crank sensor (looking from the front of the car) there is a stud sticking out from the block about 1 1/2 inches. In fact the radiator hose on that side of the engine lays on top of it.
What is it there for and what does it do? Should it be sticking out that far?
