Tomarrow I will be installing the new center support / bearing. What is the best method to preload this thing to prevent shakes / shimmies??

Pre-load the bearing by sliding the bracket of the center bearing forward (toward the engine) 4-6mm from its ‘neutral’ hanging position prior to fastening.
