Heated seats upgrade

is it possible to purchase the heating elements and swtiches and convert non-heated seats into heated ones? the ETK makes it look not so hard.. if you took the seat out of the car it looks like you could get most of it apart enough to install heating elements.. heck.. you could get a heating pad and a DC/AC converter and make your own... it might be a little lumpy though.

Take a look on ebay - looks like there are multiple sources there for units..

Hey, that's an excellent link. I saw a bottom heated seat on ebay last year and emailed the seller who sold me an extra bottom heating element seperately for $30. It's been in the bmw box in the attic all this time, because I thought it would hundreds to have to remove my seat and take it to an uphostlery place to make the switch with my busted element.

Luckily I was patient enough to scroll to page 11 where instructions were printed in english.
