If the mufflers on a '92 525ia and a '94 525 are the same?

I'm interested in an exhaust tip and wondered if it would work.

you go to the online parts database. Here's the link: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/ ... and if you input info for a 92 then compare it to the 94 then you'll have your answer. :D

If you've never used the database before...let me guide you thru it. Just click the tabs (or enter the last 7 digits of the VIN if you know it) and work your way over to were you can do a part search. You can find the exhaust tips or the exhaust system by clicking on
18 EXHAUST SYSTEM (main group) then 18 95 ACCESSORIES & RETROFITTINGS (subgroup). You will then see a small diagram of exhaust tips...if you click on it...the diagram will explode and you'll also see the part number index and there will also be a "supplement" column that will show the diameter of the exhaust tips.

Good luck...and you might want to save the link to the online parts database to your favorites folder for future reference. It's a great tool to have at your disposal if you don't have the BMW ETK parts CD. :)

I had forgotten about the online parts catalog.

According to the site the '92 and '94 525 share the same muffler.
