Have some simple/dumb questions

90 535-Are the climate controls supposed to be illuminated?
My outside Fr. pass. door handle is "sticking" up after use, I have wd40'd it to no avail, am I missing something obvious?
Are an 85 e28 535 intake manifold and my 90 535 intake manifold identical? I have a spare from the e28 and would like to cherry it out and powdercoat it and swap them.

On mine (which might not be correct, since my car is an f'ing anomaly of nature) - the climate sliders and controls illuminate with the lights being on. The sliders illuminate when on any other position than "off".

My pass side rear door does the same. I checked the door jambs to assure that the metal wasn't fatiguing (read Koala Motorsport's site for that problem's diagnosis and repair info). Mine goes "CRACK CRACK CRACK"...sounds like an old door, but otherwise functions fine. I'm sure it's just the door brake, but I'm too cheap to fix it right now.

Haven't a clue on the intake, but when you find out, I'd love to know :)

My sliders illuminate but the dials that you turn, dont so i dont know if they are supposed to or not, i really never noticed on other peoples e34, i think at one time they may have but i cant remember, i just remember looking at them one day and thinking it was strange that the dials dont light up???

O.K. I'll try to ask again. My sliders are illuminated when lights are on, I can not see the dials in the dark. Are they illuminated in any way?

There is a little light bulb deep in the control assembly # 9
09 BULB 12V 1,2 Part # 62111391777

You will need to remove the radio, pop out the three button A/C-Defroster button assembly, un clip the cables on the sliders and pop up the three knob control assembly.

Once you have it out, gently open it up and you will discover a tiny Xmas like bulb that lights up a clear plastic illumination bar that transmits light through the panel and knob.

My local dealer did not have the bulb, so I just soldered a new one into the old base.
