540 auto - manual conversion

i just purchased a 1995 M 540i, 5 speed auto. beautiful to drive. wondering if anyone has done a transmissioin swap. i know that there was a six speed manual avaliable for this model, not easily found in australia.

any experience will help my decision on future objectives.

That is for a big 6 swap out. While the basic premis is the same you are going to spend a lot more in parts. The only oem v8 flywheels are dual mass and they are vey expensive. You can go aftermarket for the single mass stuff - but its also very expensive.
