looks more like a 240 with the front distributor, 94 and up 940 can have a front dist but they don't have the low side ac line across the valve cover :D

sears has a ok seal puller for 10 bucks, it's a little too thick but after you grind a few rch's off it works good, i've broken a few hooks on those when they stick bad

240 i was doing... I still use the same tool for a 740 though :)
I have one of the sears seal pullers with the little half moon tool bit end but for some seals i like the windshield tool better...

not the long flat handled half moon looking thing, the one i am talking about looks like a screwdriver with a slightly bent tip and a notch on one side with a red handle

I ended up with a pulling technique, of pushing 1 side in a bit. This allowed the opposing side of the seal to come to, as it were.

Thanks again. There's great room to wrench on those volvo's. I was even impressed with the exhaust on the 740. The 4 into 2 downpipe went into a decent size single pipe catalytic. It looked stock & light.
