Back-up Light switch

Hello Chaps! I'd be grateful for some advice.How easy is the transmission switch fo the reverse lights to replace? Where is it situated?

manual tranny it's near the top of the tranny on the side at about the mid point, sometimes on right sometimes on left depending on model of tranny. automatic it's at the shifter and probably just needs to be cleaned
