Hello, looking for some feedback on a body swap im planning. I have a 92' 535i that has a good drivetrain but has a body with rust that has grown in places that cannot be accessed, it looks like it may have been in a collision before too ie. improper gaps, non functioning airbag, shabby repaint on certain panels, etc. I shortly afterward bought an 89' 525i with a worn out drivetrain but amazing body. I'm wondering if any could give me an estimate on how much work it would be to put the good drivetrain in the older but better body? I hear that the 525's also had a lighter body weight to begin with, is this true?
