Hi all
Yes, you've guessed it already, my sweet ride has got bashed. It happened yesterday as I was driving in to work. I was in a queue of cars suddenly caught stationary in the middle of a roundabout in heavy morning traffic, as you can see from the small pic taken with my phonecam at the time. Suddenly a transit van coming from the other side of the island wanted to take the exit to the left of where you see my car parked. Unfortunately, he didn't quite make it and bashed into the rear corner and bumper of my car along the way at about 15-20mph.
The damage didn't look too bad at first, but I have just come back from the BMW bodywork repairers, where I went to get a quote for my insurance company, and it's not good news. Unfortunately, as it has hit the rear corner and bumper, they say the force of the impact has bent the whole rear of the car out of line. You can see this from the bigger gap along the rear door, which now also protrudes out a few mm. The gap on other side of the car looks normal and flat like all the others on the car. My poor baby bm!!!
I am now waiting for the repair costs to be sent to me. I can't believe the time could be up for this little baby of mine so soon, with only 114k on the clock.
Just wanted to share this with you guys. Please feel free to make any sugestions regarding repair or an alternative replacement which may give me as much fun and excitement to drive and work on as this one has to date.
Take care out there guys, keep warm ... and keep as far away as possible from big white vans.
