kind of dumb tire question

I need new front tires only. Backs are fine but fronts are shot due to previously poor allignment Does it matter if too much if the fronts don't match the tires in the rear. I've got Pirelli P7000 on there now. They came with the wheel package. I don't really want to spend the money to get new fronts to match. Any recommendations for 17" front only tires? I use snow tires in the winter. Also after I get teh new fronts should I get another alignment? Thanks

Not a big problem, Scott, so long as you match side to side and the tire meets the min specs for the car. For a little while I still had P7000's on the front after replacing the rears with ContiSport2's. Now have 2's all around. FWIW, I wasn't a big fan of the P7000 mostly for noise...sounded like the bearings were shot on the front...the CSC2's are much quieter...

Thanks Duey. That's one other reason why I dont want to get the P7000's.
They are loud and expensive. I got a deal on the wheels from wheel exchange if I used the P7000 in the package. I think they were trying to get rid of them.
