Do any of you know of a website that states what modifications are legal in the state of CA?? Specifically, I am interested in the use of smoked lenses and their legality. I have tried a search in the past to no avail. Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge, all modified smoke lenses are illegal. No tint can be on the lenses. Got pull over for smoked lenses before, fix it ticket.

I just swapped out my amber side lights in front on my e30 with red ones from the rear. A definite no-no. We are just giving the police an excuse to pull us over so make sure you keep your nose clean (booze, drugs, warrants etc.) and you will get no more then a fix-it ticket.
