Whether I lock my doors with my car alarm remote, or use the key, it is quite common for the locks to lock, then about 1 second later unlock. I believe I read that this might be caused by a malfunctioning door lock mechanism. Does anyone have any idea if this could be the cause? Or, does anyone know why I'm having the problem I'm having? It's driving me nuts. I suppose if it's a faulty door lock mechanism, should I start disconnecting door wiring harnesses one door at a time, then try locking the doors to see if the problem goes away? I thought that might be a way to isolate the problem. I just really don't want to take all the door panels off to check this out if necessary.

It turned out being some frayed wires at the trunk hinge. I removed the plastic wire shield and removed the black cloth tape around the wires. And there it was...two broken wires and about 5-6 others with cuts in the insulation. So, I ended up splicing four new sections of wire in and taping the insulation on the ones that were okay, but had cuts in the sheaths. Now, when I lock the doors, they lock and stay locked. No more lock....unlock. That was driving me nuts. Thanks Javier for the info and for tracking down the links. I truly appreciate your help!

Thanks, Robert, for the feed back.
Always good that people report back when a problem is solved.
