View Full Version : Resetting oil service lights on instrument panel - I did it

No need to buy a oil service reset tool from ebay etc. Her oil service light was on and the yellow light was on.

The device I used to reset the lights was a 6" piece of wire (12 gauge wire) and soldered on two molex clips (it should have an alligator clip for the strut nut), no fuse either. Turned on the iginition, number 2, car not running. Went to front of the car and opened the diagonistic board cover.

Pin 7 is the reset pin and pin 19 is the ground pin (in my case this did not work) so I grounded the wire on the strut nut for about 12 secs.

Did mine today with advice from Scott H from Chicago.

easy 10 minute job first time - but doing it again maybe a 1 - 2 minute job.
