My bro got a '00 BMW Z3... the DSC light is full-on all the time. Is there anyway I can read the error code without going to the dealer... like using OBD2 scanner?

a generic obdII scanner may not be able to read all of the bmw codes, if it's outside of normal running codes it may show up as a unknown code

2000 was the last year they had the obdII and the old under hood round plug, if it's early enough in 2000 it can be read with a regular bmw scantool like the peak tool that www.bmp.com and www.bavauto.com sell

Mmm... I better go check the car... It is my understanding that those simple tool cannot scan ABS/DSC section. Thanks for your help.
