changing boot struts

hi does anybody know how to change boot struts on a e34 saloon

...and push clip back. Remove strut from pole. Save clips for reuse on new or "regassed" strut - whichever you use. The clips can break if not carefull but they are cheap to buy.

NOTE WELL - you need to have a friend hold up the boot (trunk) lid while you are in the boot (trunk) removing the struts, or the boot (trunk) lid will come crashing down on you or your unsuspecting legs, trapping you in the boot (trunk).

Done properly it can take seconds to remove the struts.
