coolant level light comes on and coolant is actually fine. Just curious, to check it out and see for sure that it is the sensor, could I just put a jumper wire between the switch ? Is it a simple current-no current condition ?
Just want to make sure it is sensor before I replace it.

top and check for continuity, or as you said just jumper the wires, frequently the float is stuck down so you might check that first.

Had the same issue. Remove the terminal boot from the sensor and look for corrosion. Mine was corroded and I used some 120grit sandpaper to clean the sensor pin ends and the (inside of the) terminal boot. Hint – roll up a tiny piece of sandpaper (like a cigar) and use that to clean the female connectors inside the terminal boot.
