    Default 19mm nut or 22mm wich one??

    I have a 1989 535i production date 4/89 I'm getting a set of bilsteins and I need to know if my car has a 19mm nut or a 22mm nut.

    It's probably a 19mm, but you have to check.

    Pop off the top strut dust cover and find out.

    yep more likly the smaller 19mm. These can be changed to the 22 with upper strut mount replacing i think.

    Yep. Probably 19mm - go put a socket on the nut and see what fits.

    If you're planning on replacing the upper strut bearings anyways (and you probably don't have to) - to my knowledge the 22mm versions fit. Might as well go with the slightly beefier design.
