Quick bit o help please!

Hey everybody!

Does anyone know if i'd be able to put the gearbox from a 530 into my 540? Either manual or auto.

Only mines buggered and getting a 540 box seems to need an additional mortgage, whereas old 530's seem to be falling apart all over the place with gearboxes intact!!!

They use different box. Different set up and ratio for the auto box. And 530i has 5 speed and 540i has 6 speed for the manual box.
