Is this a fake, a scam, or can you actually replace JUST the lense?

    Default yueah you can...

i think it involves heating the glue to get it to separate....there isn't a need to replace the whole thing

    Hi Ilya,
You CAN replace the glass lenses. I bought mine from BMA (around $45 per). Each one comes in a small plastic housing (you dont need to buy a "complete assembly"). You have to heat up (I used a blow dryer...close up x 30 seconds) the old housing to pry it out. And dont mess with the adjustment screws - leave them alone. The 1st one is a little tricky, but it gets easy with practice.
I dont know what that is they're advertising in that ebay link - they say they're plastic, and the instructions refer to fog lights.
    Good luck,
    Scott

Default need clarification on headlights please

1990 535, stock pass. side low beam lens is cracked, yesterday during our CA. rain storm it partially filled w/water and the lowbeam went poof. So what exactly needs to be replaced and what is the most cost effective way to do this? The bavauto cat. lists 5 series 89, 90 and 93-96 low beam elipsoid left or right for 119.95. This is bulb only, correct? I still need to replace the lens? Do they really cost 100 bucks? What are my options? Thanks

The 119.95 is the assembly (lens and everything) without the bulb. Look at the link above for a better price on that.

The bulb is available from any auto parts store.
