Did you push the button that makes it gong?
Hi Everyone,
My 530i has the OBC and Check Control display but I am yet to hear the 'Gong'!
Does anyone have any ideas why it may not be working?
Many thanks!
Ian

I panic when I hear the gong... I usually only hear it when somethings low like windshield washer fluid or when the temp gets down to 38...and yes I freak when it goes off for that too.

Same here... Gong at the very least gets a very fast look down to see wtf is wrong now....

Someone just sorted out this problem in the last week or so. Do a search.

Hi Everyone,
I located my gong above the pedals and taking the panel off it appears to be plugged in ok, bit I get no sound from it.
Does anyone know how I can test this to ensure it works?

Someone please help me?
Thanks!

I've gotten a lot better about putting on my seatbelt before I start the car because of the gong.

like in above post...I don't think they cost that much...you can always call your local stealership (give them the part number) for a price check and if it cost more than what you're willing to pay...just say thanks, goodbye.
Here's the part number from the online parts database...which I'm sure you've already checked out...but just in case here's a direct link to the gong's diagram: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...62&fg=40&hl=18
(oh yeah...it's #8 in the diagram...and highlighted in "red" in the parts index below the diagram)
