have you removed it from the car?The gong should have two plugs going into it.If you remove one of the two the gong stops......the other one stops the dash display working.
Hi,
My gong doesn't sound (530i E34). How can I test it to see if it works, or determine if the problem is elsewhere?
Is there a fuse?
Are there parts inside the gong that can be replaced? I
Many thanks!
Ian

is the gong sound the same as the seatbelt sound? All I know is that sound freaks me out if i hear it while driving.

Before I ask next-doors cat for any ideas, does anyone else have any bright ideas?
Or ANY ideas?

From my skills of looking at the EWD in Bently it runs to Fuse 20 in the Front Power Disturbotion Box. Other things on Fuse 20 are...
Instument Cluster / Check Control
Park / Tail / Underhood Lights
Interior Lighs
Integrated Climate Control Regulation (HRK)
On Board Computer
Electonic Throttle Control (EML)
All of those things are on more then one fuse, however you should notice something wrong with them
Out of the Chime Module
Red / Yel = Hot
Brn / Org = Ground
Blk / Red = Sount Tone Signal (Instrument Cluster)
Wht / Blu = Gong T2 Control (On Board Computer)
Wht / Red = Gong T1 Control (On Board Computer)
(Info off Bentley Page 160-EWD)
Thanks
