Lowering

What is the best way to lower the front end.. ??

I just put on staggered wheels 18" .. now the back end seems to have filled up visually but the front really looks like it could be lowered.

BY the way, disregard the pic of Fritz in his early sachs kit days. I particularly hate that picture. I shot a (somewhat) better image yesterday, but unless it's nice and sunny, I can't seem to take a good pic with this camera.



So, the front height is comparable (or slightly lower) than the euro mtech springs / nurburgring kit.

There may be others of interest in my directory, http://www.bimmer.info/bmw/lowell/, and the myriad of other people with the kit can probably provide pics if you're considering that option.

Finally, I'm not sure if you were considering doing this, but it's generally not such a hot idea to change just the front springs/struts in hopes of getting rid of gaposis.

the thing is, start lowering the car, then it becomes more slightly more impractial in city driving, like bottoming out in steep drive ways. I dislike the look of a large wheel to wheel arch gap though. It would be good to see a physical photo of what the different spring manufactuers claim and acutal spring heights.

I went with H&R springs, but just used the fronts (on stock shocks) to get the look I wanted. I felt the rear was low enough for my tastes, and after settling, the car has a nice, yet subtle, rake to it.

Mine have certainly settled. At least half an inch since the days after I installed them (almost 75 days ago.)

Does your front stock shocks bottom out if you take hard corners? I heard if you don't upgrade to sport shocks with lowered springs, it will bottom out...

I get no bottoming out except on really hard speed bumps.
